Eurobasket 2025 Final
The world champion Germany defeated Turkey 88-83 and won the Eurobasket 2025 final in Riga on Sunday. Turkey led most of the game, but Germany resigned, with captain Dennis Schröder scoring the last six points.

The men’s team recently won the Eurobasket in 1993, which is also generally referred to as the European basketball championship. They reached the final in 2005. With this win, Germany becomes a two-time European basketball champion.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier took part in the final in the Latvian capital. Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz congratulated the team on the "sensational performance" and said, "We are proud of you, you are an inspiration for young athletes."
