Introduction to Nightwatch

A new factual entertainment series by Daisy May and Charlie Cooper is set to be broadcast on BBC Two and iPlayer. The series, called Nightwatch, will feature the siblings exploring some of the most haunted places in Great Britain.

The Concept of Nightwatch

The six-part series will see the siblings, born in Gloucestershire, visiting various locations known for their paranormal activity. The first location to be featured on the show is the closed HMP Gloucester, a former prison with a dark history. Future episodes will take place in an old pub frequented by travelers in Cannock Chase, bat ruins, and a cinema in York.

Episode Details

Each episode of Nightwatch will be 30 minutes long, although a release date has not been announced yet. During their time exploring these haunted locations, the Cooper siblings will reflect on their family life, sibling rivalry, and careers.

The Siblings’ Motivation

Daisy May and Charlie Cooper have both had experiences with the paranormal and are fascinated by the concept of life after death. They saw this series as the perfect opportunity to prove that they are not delusional. In their own words, "We both had a brush with the paranormal and really love the concept of life after death, so we thought that this could be the perfect way to prove that we are not delusional." They also joked that "it will be a miracle when we both come out alive and well."

Reaction from the BBC

Catherine Catton, head of factual entertainment and events at the BBC, expressed her excitement about the series, saying "We look forward to spending the night with Daisy May and Charlie Cooper in some of the creepiest places in Great Britain." Executive producer Lisa Clark added that working with the Cooper siblings was "terrifying – but also a lot of fun." The combination of the siblings’ charm and the spooky locations is sure to make for an entertaining and thrilling watch.
