Tate McRae’s Electrifying Performance at the MTV Video Music Awards
Tate McRae took a night off from her global Miss Possessive tour to deliver a medley of "Revolving Door" and "Sporttor" at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday evening. This performance marked her first main-stage appearance at the VMAs.
A Dazzling Stage Presence
McRae met the stage in a white two-part outfit to sing two of her hit songs from her third studio album, So close to what. She started her performance with the "Revolving Door" route, surrounded by her backup dancers, who were dressed in only underwear. The energy was palpable as she nailed the leg extension of the backbend, a move that inspired a viral trend on TikTok.
Bringing the Heat with "Sporttor"
When it came to "Sporttor", there was no shortage of splits, while fire erupted in the background. The 22-year-old singer-dancer’s performance was a testament to her talent and dedication to her craft. The young artist was nominated for six VMAs this year, including Song of the Year for "Sport Car", "Best Pop Artist", and "Best Editing" and "Best Visual Effects" for "Just Watch Watch (From F1: The Movie)". She also received two nominations for Song of the Summer for "Just Keep Watch" and for her feature in Morgan Wallen’s "what I want". McRae took home the award for "just watching".
