Introduction to Row K Entertainment’s Latest Acquisition

Row K Entertainment, the youngest North American distributor, has made its first major acquisition at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The company has secured the US and Canadian rights to Gus van Sant’s film, Dead manse wray. This move marks a significant milestone for Row K Entertainment, as it brings a highly anticipated film to audiences in North America.

The Film: Dead manse wray

Dead manse wray is based on a true story from 1977 about an emerging Indianapolis entrepreneur who becomes a folk hero after taking his mortgage broker hostage. The film is set to open before the end of the year and is expected to receive critical acclaim. With a talented cast, including Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, Colman Domingo, and Al Pacino, Dead manse wray is generating significant buzz in the film industry.

The Acquisition Deal

The deal for Dead manse wray was negotiated by WME Independent and Cassian Elwes on behalf of the filmmakers. The acquisition is reported to be in the mid-seven figures, with Row K Entertainment prevailing over other theater buyers who were also interested in the film. WME Independent will also handle international sales for the film.

Row K Entertainment’s Vision

According to Row K President Megan Colligan, Dead manse wray is an ambitious, artist-oriented film that reflects the kind of brave cinema that the company wants to bring to audiences. This acquisition demonstrates Row K Entertainment’s commitment to supporting innovative and daring filmmaking.

Partnerships and Investments

Row K Entertainment is backed by MCT, which has been Lionsgate’s primary slate co-financing partner since 2023. MCT has invested in over 20 films with the studio, including upcoming releases like The long walk, Luck, and The housemaid. This partnership has enabled Row K Entertainment to make strategic acquisitions like Dead manse wray and bring exciting new films to audiences in North America.

Conclusion

The acquisition of Dead manse wray marks an exciting milestone for Row K Entertainment, as the company continues to establish itself as a major player in the film industry. With its commitment to supporting innovative filmmaking and its partnerships with key industry players, Row K Entertainment is poised to bring a new wave of exciting films to audiences in North America.
