Karol G’s New Initiative

Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation has started a new initiative called Latina PWR, with the goal of strengthening the next generation of Latina leaders in the United States. This initiative is a partnership with LatinoJustice PRLDEF, a long-time advocate for equity and justice. LatinoJustice has provided leadership development opportunities to over 10,000 participants since its founding in 1972.

The Latina PWR Program

The Latina PWR program was created to celebrate the strength and influence of Latinas and expand their opportunities in spaces of power and decision-making. The first program will focus on increasing the representation of Latinas in leadership roles and expanding access to education to promote social change. From September 2025 to July 2026, the program will support careers in areas such as law and municipal council in New York. The participants will primarily be first-generation college students who face systemic obstacles to university education but stand out for their drive and commitment to growth.

Music Industry News

In other news, Warner Chappell Music (WCM) Nashville has renewed its global publishing deal with eight-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves. Musgraves expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to continue working with WCM, saying it has been a wonderful long-standing home for her songs. Phil May, General Manager of WCM Nashville, praised Musgraves as a valuable part of the Warner Chappell family and a talented songwriter and artist.

Hybe Latin America has set up a new regional Mexican music-oriented label called S1ento Records, with Emmy-nominated manager Myrna Pérez as its General Manager in Los Angeles. Pérez played a key role in the development of "Pase a la Fama," a musical reality competition that focused on discovering new talents in the regional Mexican genre. Before joining Hybe, Pérez worked as a producer, director, and creative manager, contributing to campaigns and documentary work for Netflix, Telemundo, Hulu, and NBCUniversal.

Leadership Changes

Bruce Allen Talent has chosen Paul Haagenson, former President of Live Nation in Canada, as its new President. Bruce Allen will take on a role as founder and chairman, ensuring that the company’s talented artists continue to receive the best service possible. Haagenson praised Allen’s reputation and understanding of the business, saying he is excited to join the company and work with people he respects.

Promotions and New Podcasts

Sony Music Publishing has promoted Jordi Tello to Managing Director of Iberia, effective immediately. Tello will be responsible for overseeing the creative and business operations in Spain and Portugal, strengthening relationships with clients and industry partners, and expanding global support for SMP songwriters.
