Introduction to Unconventional Living Arrangements

Up to the mortgage. While some married couples stay together for financial reasons or their children, others are divorced but continue to live on the same property due to their mortgage. Due to the high mortgage lenses, some couples have technically completed their divorce but still live together.

A Unique Living Situation

Ryan Hambry and Morgan Dickson have been divorced since April, but they still live on the same property in Cape Canaveral, Florida. However, they do not live together in the classical sense. Hambry lives in a beach bungalow, while Dickson lives in an airstream hangar in the backyard of the house. This unorthodox arrangement has its challenges, but the couple has managed to make it work for them.

Making it Work

"The finances can work," Hambry said. "The limits are more difficult." He explained that sometimes he feels like they are still married because Dickson is always nearby, but there is clearly no intimacy and other parts of a marriage. Despite the unconventional living situation, the couple has found a way to coexist and even raise their children together. Each parent has their own setup, and the children jump back and forth between the house and the trailer for a small "camp" every evening.

Not an Isolated Incident

Hambry and Dickson are not the only divorced couple to continue living together due to financial reasons. Another couple, Megan Meyer and her ex-husband Tyler, have found a way to make a platonic arrangement work for them. They live together under one roof with Megan’s new husband, Michael Flores, and their children. This arrangement is not without its challenges, but it has allowed them to provide a stable and comfortable home for their children.

The Key to!Success

According to experts, the key to making such an arrangement work is emotional maturity. "Both parents have to have enough emotional maturity to live with their ex and his new partner," advised a relationship therapist. It is also essential to set respectful limits, create clear communication strategies, and concentrate on the reason why they are choosing to live together. By doing so, they can provide a stable and loving home for their children, despite their unconventional living situation.

Conclusion

While this type of living arrangement may not be for everyone, it is clear that some couples are willing to think outside the box and make unconventional choices to provide for their families. By being open-minded and willing to make sacrifices, these couples have found a way to make their unique living situations work, and their children are benefiting from it.
