Introduction to the New Film

Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired the US sales rights for Gore Verbinski’s new film, Good luck, have fun, don’t die, from Konstantin Film La. The film is set to be released theatrically on January 30, 2026.

What to Expect from the Film

According to Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Briarcliff Entertainment, the film is "wild, endlessly entertaining and in contrast to everything the audience has seen before." This suggests that the film will be a unique and exciting experience for viewers. The film is Gore Verbinski’s first independent film, and Briarcliff Entertainment is excited to share his vision with audiences across the country.

The Plot and Cast

The film is led by Sam Rockwell, alongside Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple. The animated film, written by Matthew Robinson, follows a man who claims to be from the future and uses the patrons of a legendary Los Angeles diner as hostages, recruiting unlikely heroes to save the world.

Production and Filming

Production was completed by Konstantin Film La, 3 Arts Entertainment, Blind Wink Productions, and WAM films. The filming took place in Cape Town, South Africa. The deal was negotiated on behalf of Briarcliff by Tom Ortenberg and Jessica Rose, as well as CAA Media Finance and Gersh on behalf of the filmmakers.

Reaction from the Filmmakers

Pam Kunath and Robert Kulzer, from Constantin Film La, expressed their excitement and impressment with Tom Ortenberg and his team’s passion for the film and commitment to the theatrical experience.

Upcoming Projects from Briarcliff Entertainment

Briarcliff’s upcoming slate includes Stab head, an animated feature that debuted at the Animation Film Festival, and The thing with feathers, a genre-bending adaptation of Max Porter’s celebrated novel, starring Benedict Cumberbatch alongside newcomers Richard Boxall and Henry Boxall. The latter was bought from Sundance and promises to be a brave and exciting film.
