BFI London Film Festival’s Screen Talks Program
The BFI London Film Festival’s Screen Talks program is set to feature an exciting lineup of stars, including Daniel Day-Lewis, Richard Linklater, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Tessa Thompson. These celebrated filmmakers will take part in sessions, sharing their insights and experiences with audiences.
Celebrated Filmmakers Join the Lineup
Joining the lineup are acclaimed filmmakers Jafar Panahi, Lynne Ramsay, and Chloé Zhao. They will participate in sessions on October 8th, with Rian Johnson’s "The Dead Man Wake Up: A Knife from the Secret" being a highlight of the festival.
Daniel Day-Lewis: A Legendary Actor
Daniel Day-Lewis, the only person to have won three Best Actor Oscars, is known for his iconic roles in films such as "My Beautiful Washing Pet", "The Unbearable Ease of Being", "My Left Foot", "The Age of Innocence", "There Will Be Blood", "Lincoln", and "Phantom Thread". He will discuss his return to acting in his upcoming film, "Anemone", which also marks his directorial debut.
Yorgos Lanthimos: A Master of Cinema
Yorgos Lanthimos’ work has established him as one of the most renowned directors of the 21st century. His frequent collaborators include Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone, who star in his recent feature, "Bugonia". Some of his most notable projects include "Poor Things", "The Favourite", "Killing a Holy Deer", and "Dogtooth".
Richard Linklater: A Versatile Filmmaker
Richard Linklater will appear at the LFF to discuss his diverse filmography, which includes "Dazed and Confused", "I and Orson Welles", and "Everyone Wants Some", as well as comedies like "School of Rock", "Bad News Bears", and "Comma". His latest film, "New Wave", follows the emergence of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1959 classic, "Breathless", one of the first projects that initiated the wave of experimental French cinema.
Jafar Panahi: A Critic of Iranian Society
Jafar Panahi, whose work has criticized Iranian society and had a significant impact on his life, will discuss his classics, including "The White Balloon", "The Circle", and "Offside", as well as his newer films, such as "Taxi", "No Bears", and "Closed Curtain".
Lynne Ramsay: A Acclaimed Director
Lynne Ramsay, who made her feature debut with "Ratcatcher" in 1999, has produced a range of critically acclaimed films, including "Morvern Caller", "We Need to Talk About Kevin", and "You Were Never Really Here". She recently debuted her latest film, "Die, My Love", starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, at the Cannes Film Festival.
Tessa Thompson: A Rising Star
Tessa Thompson, known for her roles in "Thor: Ragnarok" and other Marvel Cinematic Universe films, will discuss her extensive career at the LFF event in October. Chloé Zhao, an Oscar winner for her work on the Frances McDormand-starring "Nomadland", will talk about her portfolio, including her work on Marvel’s "Eternals". Closing the Festival
The BFI London Film Festival 2025 will close with the Emma Corrin and Charli XCX-starring "100 Nights of the Hero". This highly anticipated film is set to bring the festival to a close on a high note, with its unique blend of music and drama.
