Etihad Airways Flight Ey10, from O’HARE International Airport (Ord) to Abu Dhabi, was redirected to Vienna after a passenger experienced a medical emergency, the airline confirmed. The airline explained that the flight was diverted due to a guest who required immediate medical treatment.
Response to the Emergency
The passenger was taken off the plane in Vienna to be transferred to a hospital. The flight then continued on its way to Abu Dhabi. The airline emphasized that the security and comfort of passengers and crew remain the top priority and regret any inconvenience caused by the diversion.
Previous Medical Emergency
In June, a similar incident occurred when a flight from New Delhi to Abu Dhabi was redirected to Muscat due to a medical emergency. A passenger needed immediate medical help on board, and the flight EY213 was diverted from Indira Gandhi International Airport to the international airport in the capital of Oman.
