Upcoming Events in September

This month, there are several exciting events taking place in the Netherlands, offering a range of activities for all interests.

Craft Festival

The Craft at the Image Festival is an event where craftsmen showcase their skills and knowledge in producing various products. It’s an opportunity to learn from them and even try your hand at making something yourself, such as a neon lamp or ceramic piece. This festival is perfect for children and adults alike, promoting the exchange of knowledge and skills rather than selling products. The festival will take place on September 27th and 28th in the NDSM LOODS in Amsterdam.

National Potato Harvest Day

For those who love the outdoors and are interested in farming, the National Potato Harvest Day is a great event to attend. On September 6th, ten farms across the country will open their doors, allowing visitors to harvest potatoes and learn about the growth process. There will also be a competition, the "NK Potato Gods," for those who enjoy a challenge. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tilda Swinton Exhibition

The Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam will host an exhibition celebrating the artistic collaborations of Tilda Swinton from September 28 to February 8, 2026. The exhibition will feature existing and new work from renowned artists such as Pedro Almodóvar, Luca Guadagnino, and Tim Walker. The museum will also organize panel discussions, film screenings, and other events in conjunction with the exhibition.

Girl: About Boredom, Rebellion, and Growing Up

The Momu Antwerp will showcase an exhibition titled "Girl. About boredom, rebellion and growing up" from September 27 to February 1, 2026. This interdisciplinary project explores the concept of ‘The Girl’ and its influence on fashion and visual culture. The exhibition will feature work from visual artists, fashion designers, photographers, and filmmakers, including pieces by Louise Bourgeois and Nancy Steiner.

Pumpkin Farm

As autumn approaches, the pumpkin farm in Edveen is ready to welcome visitors. From August to November, the farm will be open from Monday to Saturday, offering a wide selection of pumpkins in various sizes, colors, and shapes. Some of the pumpkins are edible, while others are perfect for decorative purposes.

The Dutch Film Festival

The Dutch Film Festival will take place in Utrecht from September 26 to October 3. The festival will showcase a range of films, documentaries, series, and digital productions from Dutch filmmakers. Attendees can also participate in panel discussions and premieres, making it an exciting event for film enthusiasts.
