Introduction to the Upcoming Horror Film
Neon has acquired worldwide rights to the upcoming horror film, Law, starring Adam Scott from Emmy-nominated Compensation. The company will begin discussions with international buyers at TIFF next week.
The Storyline
The film, led by Damian McCarthy, tells the story of a withdrawn writer who checks into a remote Irish Inn to scatter his parents’ ashes. However, he is disturbed by unsettling visions after learning that an old witch is said to haunt the honeymoon suite.
Production and Release
Neon will release the film theatrically in the USA in 2026. The film is a co-production with CWEARTE FEATURES, Image Nation, and Creepy Pictures, with Team Thrives co-financing the project. The film is currently in post-production.
Cast and Crew
The film boasts a talented cast, including Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, O’Connell, and Michael Patric, who join Adam Scott. The lineup is completed by SOOX C, Brendan Conroy, Austin Amelio, and Ezra Carlisle. The film is produced by Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Creepy Pictures, Derek Dauchy of Image Nation, and Ruth Treacy.
Financing and Partnerships
The co-production financing comes from Screen Ireland/Fís Éireann, with the Irish company Tailored Films also on board. Jason Wald negotiated the deal with Rose Tree for CWEATURE FEATURES and Ross for Image Nation.
The Director’s Background
Damian McCarthy’s feature debut, Curiosity, premiered at 2024 SXSW and won the audience award in the Midnighter section. This success has generated excitement for his upcoming film, Law.
