The Norwegian filmmaker Mona Fastvold’s English language film, Ann Lee’s Will, has received financing from Charades and CAA media. The film is set to make its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
The Story and Cast
Amanda Seyfried plays the role of Ann Lee, the religious leader who founded the Shaker movement in the USA in the late 1770s. Lee’s successor branded her as the female Jesus Christ. The film also features Christopher Abbott, Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, and Tim Blake Nelson in leading roles. The music film will be showcased at Toronto Special Presentations after its premiere in Venice.

The producers of the film include Kaplan Morrisons’ Andrew Morrison, Joshua Horsfield from Intake Films, Viktoria Petoria from Proton Cinema, Mona Fastvold, and Brady Corbet, along with Mark Lampert, media from Gregory Jankilevsch and Klaudia Smieja-Rostworwska and Mizzel Media. Fastvold was previously in Venice as the co-author of the Silver Lion winner, The Brutalist, which was directed by her husband Brady Corbet and won three Oscars and four BAFTAS.
