Lil Nas X Arrested and Detained
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning and will be detained until Monday. A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the rapper was taken into custody after being caught on camera roaming the streets of Studio City, almost naked and apparently delirious.
The Arrest
The LAPD stated that Lil Nas X is being held due to "Charge 69 (a) PC," a criminal code for resisting or hindering an officer. The police department also mentioned that the rapper’s arrest cannot be bailed, and he must appear in front of a judge before his release, which is scheduled for Monday.
Current Status
Lil Nas X is currently being held at the Valley Jail in Van Nuys. His current state is unclear, and representatives for the rapper have not responded to requests for comment.
Incident Details
The incident was first caught on camera by TMZ, which showed Lil Nas X walking down Ventura Boulevard, wearing only underwear and a pair of white cowboy boots. The LAPD explained that the rapper "charged at officers and was taken into custody." He was also taken to a local hospital for a possible overdose and was arrested for battery on a police officer.
Health Issues
This is not the first time Lil Nas X has struggled with health issues. In April 2025, he released an update on social media stating that he had suffered partial facial paralysis. A month later, he was forced to cancel a headlining appearance at the West Hollywood Pride music festival due to ongoing medical issues. A source close to the rapper revealed that mental health issues also contributed to his decision to pull out of the event. At the time, the festival announced that they were in close contact with Lil Nas X and his team regarding his ongoing medical issues.
Prioritizing Health
After visiting the hospital, Lil Nas X stated that he needed to prioritize his health and return to 100%. The rapper’s health issues have been a concern for some time, and it is unclear how his current detention will affect his well-being. More information is expected to be released soon.
