Introduction to Taylor Swift’s Upcoming Album
Taylor Swift has listed two other alternative vinyl variants in limited edition for their upcoming 12th album, The life of a show girl, along with a new alternative album cover, all part of the album edition "Baby This Show Business". These new variants come three days after Swift unveiled two more vinyl variants and another alternative album cover for the "Shiny Bug" edition of the record.
New Vinyl Variants
The new alternative vinyl options come in a dark blue "Lakeside Beach Blue Sparkle" and a yellow and orange "beautiful bouquet golden". Both vinyl options offer the same, darker shaded alternative album cover. The specimens of the special edition are available until August 23. However, if the sales are like Monday’s "Shiny Bug" edition, they will probably be sold out for a long time.
Marketing Strategy
So far, we have seen four different vinyl variants of Swift’s album, which is par for the course with Swift’s usual rollout strategies. These strategies normally contain many different physical versions of their album, be it vinyl, CDs, or cassettes. The variants contribute to increasing sales, since Swift has transformed each of its albums into collector’s pieces. Swift has become one of the few artists in the streaming age who reliably sell more than a million copies in their debut week.
Album Details
The new vinyl variants come a little more than a week after Swift revealed The life of a show girl in a special episode of Travis and Jason Kelces’s New heights podcast. The album, which will be released on October 3, combines Swift with the legendary hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, who worked with Swift on some of their greatest pop hits, such as "Blank Space", "Shake it off", and "22".
Personal Insights
Swift gave one of the most revealing interviews of her career in the podcast and opened up about the possession of her masters, the Eras tour, and her relationship with Travis Kelce. She described her early days with Kelce, saying "It felt more like I was in a film by John Hughes in a film of the 80s and he was just as if I was standing outside of my window with a boombox." She added, "I said, ‘If this guy is not crazy’, I have written songs since my teenager about how I wanted to happen."
