The reason behind this emptiness is attributed to the fact that many of the regular, affluent members are currently in the Hamptons.

Event Invitations and Summer Plans

During the summer, the city typically sees a decrease in activity as many individuals migrate to other locations. This summer has been no exception, with a substantial number of event invitations being held outside of New York City. Out of 75 event invitations received over the course of the summer, a staggering 90 percent were scheduled to take place in the Hamptons. This has led to a situation where attendees often have to inform hosts that they are not in the east, highlighting the divide between those who stay in the city and those who leave for other destinations.
