For the first time in 20 years, Taco Bell is making its first permanent taste expansion of the beloved Baja explosion. Baja Midnight is a new twist on the legendary tropical lime drink, combining the taste that fans already love with a passion fruit taste – a fruity spin on the citrus classic.
Launch and Availability
The first new taste of Mountain Dew Baja Blast has debuted nationwide on August 14th. The menu additive will be available in two formats: Mountain Dew Baja Midnight and Mountain Dew Baja Midnight Freeze – both are formulated to pair well with every menu item from Taco Bell.

Formulation and Taste
Mountain Dew Baja Midnight was deliberately manufactured to build on the legendary taste of Mountain Dew Baja Blast and develop a modern flavor, especially for Gen Z fans. To ensure that the legacy lives on, Mountain Dew Baja Midnight was strictly tested to ensure that the fleeting taste of the kitschy, spicy, crispy flavors complements and loves fans at Taco Bell.
Pricing and Promotions
While Baja Midnight will be a permanent addition, the Freeze, which offers an icy frozen version of the drink, is only available for a limited time. The original Baja Blast was first introduced on test markets in 2004 and became a cult favorite for the chain. The soda costs $2.49 for a small, $2.79 for a medium, and $2.99 for a large one. The freeze is $3.79 for a regular and $3.99 for a large one. Reward members can try a medium Mountain Dew Baja Midnight free of charge if they spend $5 or more in the Taco Bell app on August 15th. The offer is only redeemable via the app in participating locations, while supplies last.
