Drowning Prevention

Recognizing the Signs of Drowning

Cramp is also something that panic causes. To address this, it is essential to stay calm, stretch the part of the body that is cramped, and seek help. However, someone who is drowning may not exhibit the commonly depicted sign of waving their arm for help. Instead, a person who is drowning will often return to the surface of the water, lay back with their head, and may even stop moving.

Prevention and Safety

It is crucial to keep a close eye on each other when in or near water. This means staying away from distractions like phones and never allowing children to enter the water alone. Even if children are wearing flotation devices, such as bracelets, they should still be supervised at all times. Flotation devices can be blown away by the wind, much like an air bed that can suddenly be swept far out to sea, putting the child in danger.
