Introduction to Shudder’s Latest Horror Film

Shudder has proven to be the premier streaming service for horror content in recent years, and now, an upcoming project has received an exciting new look. As part of Collider’s exclusive preview event in autumn, a new picture from the upcoming film, Night of the Reaper, has been released. The film is set to be published directly to the streamer on September 19th. The new picture brings the action to life, with a scared girl standing on the phone and possibly asking for help as the murderer approaches or receives the message that he is at large.

The Plot and Cast of Night of the Reaper

Night of the Reaper hails from writer/director Brandon Christensen, with Ryan Christensen also contributing to the script. The film stars Jessica Clement, Ryan Robbins, Summer H. Howell, and Keegan Connor. The story takes place after a brutal murder of a teenage babysitter, as a student named Deena returns home for the weekend and is furnished with her own babysitter. When the local sheriff receives a piece of disturbing evidence in the mail that proves the murder is part of a larger pattern, he begins a mysterious scavenger hunt that leads him to assume that the murderer may plan to hit again. Night of the Reaper is charged as a classic horror thriller that promises to pump the blood, and the film comes in with a short runtime of 93 minutes.

What Else is Streaming on Shudder?

One of the latest and more popular additions to Shudder is Frankie Freako, which came to the platform last year. Directed by Steven and starring Conor Sweeney and Matthew Kennedy, the film is a classic horror comedy with a killer doll that resembles Chucky or Megan. Shudder subscribers can also check out John Lithgow in The Rule of Jenny Pen, which premiered at the beginning of this year and holds a 71% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Geoffrey Rush and George Henare also star in the James Ashcroft-directed film that follows two older men who appear in an older care facility.

Conclusion and Release Date

Night of the Reaper is set to start streaming on Shudder on September 19. With its classic horror thriller plot and talented cast, it’s sure to be a hit among horror fans. Take a look at the exclusive picture above and stay up to date to get further film news from our exclusive preview event all week. In 2025, strong horror films have been packed, and Night of the Reaper can only be the next publication that brings the world on fire.
