Paris Couture Week
Introduction to the Week’s Events
The Jordanian-Romanian shoe designer Amina Muaddi will open her first boutique, a jewel box boutique in the Parisian Avenue Montaigne. The interior was designed by the multitalented entrepreneur Ramdane Touhami. California brand framework and auction house Sotheby’s celebrate their capsule collection.
Upcoming Shows and Debuts
Wednesday is about coming and going: Demna will present his last Couture collection in Balenciaga, and Glenn Martens will debut in Maison Margiela. The Balenciaga show may be visited by Demna’s successor Pierpaolo Piccioli. Martens has to fill big shoes, as the last Margiela show was the unveiling of John Galliano’s Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection under Pont Alexandre III.
Glenn Martens’ Debut
Martens has already shown his skills and vision in Couture. The 42-year-old Belgian designer has worked with his team for years, and they know what he is capable of. His debut in Maison Margiela is highly anticipated.
Conclusion of the Week
The Paris Couture Week ends with a high note, with three live appearances by a theater producer and self-proclaimed couture devotee entitled Radical acts of relentless beauty in the Louvre. The event is described as a "narrative fashion performance" and will feature six dancers and a conductor.
