Introduction to Madeleine Matar’s Artistic Journey

Madeleine Matar, a renowned artist, has made a remarkable comeback into the artistic scene with her new song. Despite her absence, she has managed to create a buzz and get a loud return. In an interview with Al-Sharq al-Awsat, she revealed that she didn’t want an ordinary entry and instead chose to return with a unique identity.

Understanding the Changing Artistic Landscape

Matar explained that she didn’t completely disconnect from the space and time, but she realized that the place had changed completely. She had no idea about the key to success in the new landscape, which is closely related to social media. The game has changed, and artists need to adapt to the new rules. Matar observed the changes from afar and didn’t try to approach them because she was ignorant of the right way to lead her.

The Role of Social Media in Artistic Success

When a competent company knocked on her door, the situation changed. They asked her to appear on "Tik-Tok" and create tours and challenges on the application. Matar was looking for work that she could promote through social media, and she found that "Tik-Tok" was the perfect platform. She crossed over to other platforms like Snapchat, YouTube, and Instagram, creating a full spider network. Her new song, "And Her Eyes," was a huge success, and she didn’t think about advertising it on television or radio.

The Importance of Understanding Social Media

Matar isolated herself from the outside world for about two years to understand the goals of social media. She realized that it’s a farm that doesn’t like others, and nobody can put it on a leash. Everything that happens is directly between the artist and the people. Today, she has the secrets of this virtual field, and she saw and studied to know her new way. She worked hard to reach this point, and it’s paying off.

Comparison Between Past and Present

When comparing the past and present, Matar says that the managing director is no longer necessary, and the classifications are no longer relevant. The style of songs has changed, and the name alone is what matters. Many asked about her absence from the artistic scene, but she has a bright story and a song that is still popular.

The Motivation Behind Her Return

Matar’s absence was not a transformation into another profession, but she was motivated to return when she realized that she was not familiar with social media. After she returned, she achieved a successful comeback, and she’s very satisfied with what she has achieved. She did it alone, and since her beginnings, she has been on her own, supporting her current work.

Collaboration with Other Artists

Matar’s new song worked with the Iraqi artist Khaled al-Jarrah. She has significant popularity among people in Iraq, and she saw an opportunity to sing in the white dialect and with the vocabulary that appealed to the Arabic listener. She previously sang in the Iraqi dialect, but with "And Her Eyes," she achieved an undesirable popularity.

The Future of Art

Matar always depends on her intuition and follows it. Sometimes it’s valid, and sometimes it’s not, but most of what she did through her intuition was successful. When asked about her view on future art, she says that she doesn’t know how much she will stay in the job, but she hopes that her career will take a long time. Art grows and develops quickly, and it’s good. However, she realizes that her entry into the world of social media steals a lot of time, and she works permanently because absence in the virtual world creates gaps for the owner.
