Food Prices Compared

Introduction to Price Differences

What turns out is that different countries have varying prices for food items. Among the most striking differences per country, some nations stand out for their affordability of certain brands.

Country-Specific Price Differences

Belgium

For a full cart with 133 products, you pay an average of 12 percent less in Belgium than in the Netherlands. This applies to Premium brands and budget brands. The budget brands of basic products in particular are much cheaper. This includes items such as pasta, sustainable milk, wheat flour, coffee beans, rice, refreshing drinks, fruit drink, mineral water, and detergent. Additionally, A-brands of drugstore items, soft drinks, and special beers are also cheaper in Belgium.

Notable Observations

It is notable that Belgium is particularly interesting for budget brands, while Germany and France are more appealing for A-Brands. Understanding these differences can help consumers make informed decisions about where to shop for their groceries.
