Introduction to Art Basel Awards

On a sunny Thursday in Basel, Switzerland, a ceremony was held to celebrate the newly created Art Basel Awards. The awards were developed in cooperation with a renowned partner and aim to recognize outstanding achievements in the art world.

The Ceremony and Medalists

The ceremony took place in the Kunstmuseum Basel, which is home to the oldest public art collection in the world. During the event, 36 medalists were honored for their contributions to the art world. The awards hope to build a platform to distinguish art from its competitors and celebrate exceptional talent.

Attracting Visitors and Art World Insiders

The awards have attracted more visitors than usual, likely due to the lack of an existing art price platform. The city of Basel was filled with art world insiders who came to see works by renowned artists, as well as emerging talents. Visitors took trams to explore new exhibitions, including a showcase of works by a prominent artist at the Art Museum Schaulager.

The Art Scene in Basel

The city’s art scene was buzzing, with visitors packing nearby venues such as the Basel Social Club and List. Some even started their days by taking a stroll along the Rhine River, enjoying the summer heat. The awards have brought a surge of energy to the city, highlighting the importance of art and creativity in Basel.
