Millions of PlayStation Players Lose Access to Six Titles

Millions of PlayStation players will lose access to six titles in less than a month. The games will disappear from player libraries on July 15, 2025, and will no longer be available to play for PS Plus subscribers, even if they have already downloaded them.

Affected Games

The list of games that will be removed from the PS Plus catalog includes:

  • Remnant II
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong
  • Dying Light 2: Stay Human
  • Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord
  • Job Simulator

Impact on Players

These games are part of the rolling library with titles, which means that players can only enjoy them as long as Sony keeps them in the catalog. If players want to continue playing these games after they are removed from the catalog, they can still buy them directly. However, they will no longer be available for free as part of the PS Plus membership.

Player Reactions

In a Reddit thread about the change, fans were panicked that they had no time to play all the games. One player wrote, "Welp I have postponed Dying Light 2 because I heard it’s not great, but I think it’s now or never." Another gamer replied, "Me too. I only gave it a shot after playing it 30 minutes ago a month ago and didn’t feel it. Now I’m worried that I don’t have enough time."

Notable Games

Some of the games that will be removed from PS Plus are very well-known titles. Remnant 2, a third-person shooter, sold one million copies in the first week of sales. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is a 2022 remaster of the original game from 2007 with improved graphics. The game was well received by critics, making it worth trying before it disappears from PS Plus.

PS Plus Membership

The removal of these games affects players who play on PS5, PS4, PSVR 2, and PSVR, and applies to all levels of membership. It’s essential for players to try out these games before they are removed from the catalog, as they will no longer be available for free as part of the PS Plus membership.

PS Plus Prices and Benefits

PS Plus Essential costs £6.99/$9.99 per month and includes monthly games, online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and exclusive content. PS Plus Extra costs £10.99/$14.99 per month and includes all the benefits of Essential, plus a play catalog and Ubisoft+ classic. PS Plus Premium costs £13.49/$17.99 per month and includes all the benefits of Extra, plus a classic catalog, game trials, PS5 cloud streaming, and a Sony Pictures catalog.
