Latest Updates from Cineeurope

Cineeurope has seen a welcome return of some big names in the film industry. The President of the studio, Helen Lee-Kim, was present to welcome back the Barcelona-born director Ruben Fleischer and the producer Bobby Cohen. They showcased the first look at the film material from the upcoming attack thriller, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

New Franchise Installments

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is the latest installment in the franchise, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman, and Dave Franco, along with new additions Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike. The film is set to release on November 14th.

Behind-the-Scenes Insights

Director Ruben Fleischer emphasized the importance of shooting as much as possible "in-camera" to achieve the desired effects. This approach allows for a more authentic and engaging cinematic experience.

Upcoming Adaptations

Paul Feig was also present to showcase his adaptation of the Freida McFadden bestseller, The Housemaid, starring Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar. Feig expressed his excitement about the project, feeling like he had "hit the jackpot" with the lineup. He jokingly encouraged people to "bring your pearls" because they will be on the edge of their seats.

Other Notable Mentions

Other films mentioned include Day Drinker, which Marc Webb recently wrapped up. The film stars Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, along with Madelyn Cline, Manu Ríos, and Arón Piper, and is set to release in 2026.

Lionsgate’s Upcoming Projects

Lionsgate has several projects in the works, including Luck, starring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, and Aziz Ansari. The studio is also working on Gaming, a Stephen King adaptation directed by Francis Lawrence, titled The Long Walk. Additionally, Mel Gibson is in pre-production for The Resurrection of Christ, a follow-up to The Passion of Christ.
