Introduction to the Lexus LX 700H

The start of the brand new Lexus LX of the fourth generation alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 was one of the most expected automotive events in 2021, and since then they have sold like Hot Shawarma. Now the area includes a hybrid variant, LX 700H, the most powerful and fuel-efficient LX so far. But is it really worth twice as much as an LC300 with a steep start price of 590,000 DH?

Design & Aesthetics

Yes, the Lexus LX is the Cousin of the Land Cruiser, but he wears his own identity. This SUV in full size (5100x1990x1895 mm) has a certain visual weight that is only for the escalade. But it’s not just about size – it’s about exaggerated details. The massive spindle grille well with a latte too many and square headlights with triple-eye-LED units give him an commanding face. Then there is this large, grumpy hood, which has a central concave impression to improve visibility forward. The traditional two-box silhouette contributes to the robust attitude, while the huge 22-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels gives it a hint of demanding chic. In the rear area, the delivery tube is hidden, as a subtle allusion to its green registration information. The LX 700H may seem brave and nervous for some or for others slightly overstynd, but it looks undeniable premium – ready to bring her to your next board meeting or dinner in glittering Dubai.

Lexus claims the driving level and has equipped it with a side step and a pill grave handle to support the entry. And like an electric chauffeur, the soft doors take care of when they leave Ajar. Inside, the cabin is as luxurious as expected by Lexus and with leather surfaces, beautiful wooden cladding and large technical screen alles shows a flawless processing quality. The unusual dual screen setup consists of a 12.3-inch screen for navigation and media and a seven-inch for drive modes and climate control. While the center console looks demanding, it feels surgically complicated, the disorder of buttons. The leather and wooden steering wheel is a joy for the handle and is supplemented by large, well-placed controls. Right behind is a digital instrument cluster with lively, configurable graphics.

With regard to the accommodations, the second row is spacious, but not huge, and the third row dyeing it separate ventilation slots and USB ports-forced the knee to the upward seat due to a high floor. And surprisingly there is no panorama sliding roof.

Drive Train & Performance

You can start the LX 700H with a unusual fingerprint sensor on the switch of the push start switch, although the placement can lead to you confuse it with infotainment control.

Like the LX 600/LC300, there is a 3.5-liter V6 of two turbo, but here it is combined with a single electric motor, which is powered by a small hydride battery by nickel metal. This setup provides a smooth, wide performance, while the Shift-by-Wire gear and the Stubby switching lever in Toggle style ensure that seamless gearbox changes.

The combined output is 457 hp and 790 Nm – a firm jump from the 409 hp of the LX 600 and 650 Nm – but the additional weight negates the advantage. On the street, the LX 700H almost glides over rough spots like a luxury limousine and feels more sophisticated than the LC300. However, there is a noticeable body roll in quick maneuvers. In our 0–100 km / h acceleration sprints, it consistently performed below 7.5 seconds – about the same as his siblings – and although it was a hybrid, fuel consumption was not much better and gave a dark 5.4 kmpl. A plug-in hybrid drive would make more sense at this price.

Thanks to an all-wheel drive system with a Torsen-Limit slip differential, a crawl control, a multi-customer Select modes and a hydraulic suspension that adapts the driving level, the off-road registration information remains strong, thanks to an all-wheel drive system. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the first or second owner will venture off -road.

Functions and Functionality

The luggage compartment behind the third row is minimal with around 200 liters, but the production of the second and third rows extends it to almost 1,800
