Tribeca Festival 2025 Jury Announced

The Tribeca Festival has announced its jury for the 2025 event, which includes a diverse group of talented individuals from the film, gaming, and audio industries. Matthew Broderick, Mira Sorvino, Nia Dacosta, and Colson Whitehead are among the notable names that will determine the top content in various categories.

Jury Members

The jury members for this year’s festival include Jennifer Beals, Ilana Glazer, Sheila Nevins, Eliza Hittman, Annie Murphy, Kyle Maclachlan, Alex Karpovsky, and Mickey Sumner. According to Nancy Lefkowitz, Executive at Tribeca Enterprises, "We are proud to welcome a versatile group of jurors to this year’s Tribeca Festival. Their breadth of expertise across genres will help recognize outstanding storytellers and appreciate courageous new voices from around the world."

Competition Categories

The juries for Tribeca’s 15 competition categories are as follows:

Film Competitions

  • US Narrative Feature Competition: Nia Dacosta, Art Linson, Joshua Marston, Kent Sanderson, and Colson Whitehead
  • International Narrative Feature Competition: Dagmara Dominczyk, Valeria Golino, Toby Jones, David Laub, and Kyle MacLachlan
  • Documentary Feature Competition: Sara Bernstein, Ben Proudfoot, and Mira Sorvino
  • Best New Narrative Director Competition: Matthew Broderick, Sejin Croninger, and Eliza Hittman
  • Best New Documentary Competition: Kristine Stolakis, Sean Stuart, and Jamila Wignot

  • Nora Ephron Award: Caroline Aaron, Aijah Keith, and Annie Murphy
  • Viewpoints Competition: Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jennifer Beals, Raul Castillo, Alex Karpovsky, and Mickey Sumner
  • Narrative and Animated Shorts Competition: Ilana Glazer, Asher Grodman, Sheila Nevins, Pamela Ribon, and Moon Zappa
  • Short Documentary and Student Visionary Competition: Ahmed Ahmed, Weyes Blood, Havana Rose Liu, Kim Magnusson, and Kareem Rahma

Gaming and Audio Competitions

  • Play Competition: Meggan Scavio, Harvey Smith, and Shuhei Yoshida
  • Audio Fiction Competition: Sophie Crane, James Kim, and Dr. Chiooke L’shers
  • Audio-Independent Fiction Competition: Stephanie Kuo, Megan Nadolski, and Kate Navin
  • Audio-Independent Non-Fiction Competition: Gretta Cohn, Nichole Hill, and Ellen Horne
  • Audio-Book Competition: Caroline Edwards, Sam Sanders, and Jenna Weiss-Berman

Festival Details

The Tribeca Festival 2025 is scheduled to take place in New York from June 15th. The winners of the competition categories will be announced at the annual award ceremony on June 12.
