Train Routes in Europe

The route along the sea is a nice and affordable option, with train stops in Monaco, making it perfect for a day tour. The cost is less than five euros per trip.

More Train Paths in Europe

From Belgrade to Bar – Serbia and Montenegro

If you travel to the Balkans, this train journey is a must. You see a lot of nature and it is particularly beautiful here. The train passes the largest lake in the entire Balkans, Lake Shkodër, rises to 700 meters, and runs over the almost 500 meter long Mala Rijeka Bridge. The end station is Bar, a very nice resort in Montenegro.

Bergensblens – Norway

The Norwegian landscape is breathtaking, and the country is ideal to travel by train. This track goes from the capital Oslo to the second largest city, a trip that lasts almost seven hours. You also drive at the highest train station in Norway, which is located at a height of 1,222 meters.

Cinque Terre Express – Italy

Cinque Terre in Italy is a popular destination, but most visit this region by car. The train trip along beautiful villages is just as much fun. It’s best to find out in advance which side of the train has the best view. Tip: Book outside the high season to avoid a crowded train.

Bernina Express – Switzerland and Italy

This train journey is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The piece above the Bernina bridge is particularly well known, but the entire route is beautiful. The train goes from the starting point to the Albula railway line and then via the Bernina railway line to the Tirano End point in Italy. The part of the Albula railway line is also covered by the Glacier Express.
