Introduction to Skims
Kim Kardashian’s Skims will open its first independent store in London’s Regent Street. The US shapewear brand has signed a rental contract with the Crown Estate and will open a shop in the historic shopping street in the summer of 2026.
History of Skims
Skims was co-founded in 2019 by Kardashian and entrepreneur Jens Grede. It quickly became a cult status, specializing in women’s underwear, loungewear, and shapewear for a variety of body types. A men’s collection was launched in 2023.
Brand Partnerships
The brand has teamed up with a number of celebrities, including Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Usher, and Jude Bellingham for advertising campaigns, which usually use popular culture. Skims products sell in a number of US cities and in London department stores.
New Store in London
The first independent store in Great Britain is opening with a 10-year Regent Street lease. It is said to replace the flagship Ted Baker Store, which has been forced to close the doors of its British high street shops since the British fashion brand went out of business. This was followed by the collapse into administration of the business that was running its operations.
The Crown Estate
The Crown Estate is an independent company that belongs to the monarch for the duration of its reign, with a £16 billion property portfolio that includes London’s West End. The company’s profits are partially used to finance the work of the monarchy.
Statement from Skims
Robert Norton, Chief Commercial Officer from Skims, said that the opening of the brand’s first British store in London’s Regent Street was a "pioneering moment" for the business. "Its global prestige and lively history make it the perfect environment to debut our immersive retail experience," he said.
