BAFTA Television Awards Red Carpet Fashion
Celebrities presented sharp male tailoring and old-school glamour on the red carpet of the BAFTA Television Awards in central London. The prestigious event, held at the Royal Festival Hall of the Southbank Center, saw actors and reality stars walk the carpet before the award ceremony.
Dramatic and Dark Ensembles
Despite the heat wave, the stars wore dramatic and dark ensembles, ranging from red wine to navy and monochrome. The leading trends included male tailoring, ruffles, and old Hollywood styling.
Male Tailoring
The 54-year-old David Tennant wore a mauve and burgundy trim suit with exaggerated lapels and flared pants. Tennant channeled the 1970s in a fitting silk shirt and quiffed hair. Jessie J also wore the color of the season in a burgundy, double-breasted Saint Laurent suit with a striped shirt and matching tie.
Female Fashion
The 49-year-old presenter Emma Willis wore a suit and tie in a charcoal jacquard Gucci suit with a white shirt and black tie. Her husband, Matt Willis, wore men’s favorite color of the night: navy, in a double-breasted suit with a polka dot cravat. Angela Scanlon followed an approach inspired by Sabrina Carpenter on the red carpet in black hot pants, a baby pink shirt, and an unusual fly.
Old School Glamour
The 40-year-old Irish presenter Laura Whitmore wore sharp sartorial styling in a black and white wide-legged suit with a cropped blazer and vest. The presenter and actor Emily Atack wore a structured black and white ensemble in a white, off-the-shoulder dress with black leather opera gloves and two-tone stilettos.
Playful Punk Rock Look
The 42-year-old actor Billie Piper opted for a more playful punk rock look in a baby pink, off-the-shoulder dress with a ruffle. The star, nominated for her role in Netflix’s Scoop, combined the dress with sheer tights and patent platform shoes.
Monochromatic Looks
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell wore the same trending silhouette as Higgins in a dramatic, drop-waisted, navy blue dress with glittering embellishments. Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo kept it simple in monochromatic looks. The 36-year-old Laing wore a tuxedo from head to toe, while Habboo, 30, wore a competitive silk dress by Tony Ward with high slits, Jimmy Choo heels, and old Hollywood waves.
