Introduction to the New DCU
DC fans are only two months away from James Gunn’s Superhuman flying into cinemas worldwide. The first big leap for the new DCU has drawn all stops with new supporters, put it out behind the scenes, and pictures. Marketing push also included a fortress of loneliness full of goods. McFarlane Toys and Funko have led the heroic battle on this front. Now, Funko is back with new exclusive pops.
New Exclusive Funko Pops
The two latest pops in Funko’s always-expanding Superhuman Collection are Christopher Reeves’ Superman from 1978’s Superman: The Movie, changing in a telephone booth, and the legendary Target store mascot Bullseye disguised as DC’s first superhero. The costume Bullseye is based on David Corenswet’s red-blue tights from the upcoming film. You can see the Kingdom-inspiring Superman "S" emblem. Both are Target exclusives. Reeves’ Superman will be a deluxe pop at $34.99, while Bullseye will be $14.99. Each figure is full of details, with Bullseye flying with its reusable red target bag and Reeves’ Superman still wearing his glasses. He also holds his jacket on the floor with his briefcase and hat. This pop is now joining Funko’s Superman: The Movie Collection that was released at the beginning of this year.
Remember to Look Up This Summer
While the specific act of Gunn’s Superhuman is still kept tight in the DC safe, we know that this film will not be a further origin story for Clark Kent. This is a world in which superheroes and a version of the Justice League exist. Unlike Superman, heroes like Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Great (Edi Gathegi), Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), and Supergirl (Milly Alcock) will make their debut in the first film of the new DCU.
The New DCU Continuity
This will be a common universe in which big-screen adventures will soon be like home to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold (Batman), and Tone. Peacekeeper Season 2 was also included in this updated continuity. Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) that already had an important role in Creature will reappear in Superhuman and Peacekeeper as well. However, the main people of Superhuman will be Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and the Engineer (Maria Gabriela de Faría). This action-packed struggle will also have a difficult romantic element, since this story seems to be concentrated on Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) and Superman’s complex relationship.
When Does ‘Superman’ Release?
Superhuman will be released in cinemas in exactly two months on July 11, 2025. You can catch up with the whole Man of Tomorrow, like Superman: The Movie, Man of Steel, and Superman: The Animated Series, on Max. Before your next DC binge starts, you can pre-order both Target-exclusive Superman Pops on their website. The figures will be made available in June and July.
