Introduction to Jason Statham’s Latest Film

We all love Jason Statham, and it shows with every publication. The English actor is in his own league when it comes to action-heavy roles and cuts out with characteristics like a niche Van Franchise, Crank, and The Beekeeper. His last publication and second collaboration with director David Ayer, A Working Man, has organized a modest cash run but packs a punch in streaming.

Performance on Streaming Charts

Accordingly, Flixpatrol reports that A Working Man is climbing steadily on the Vudu charts, standing at #3 behind animated Dogman at #1 and Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World at #2 on the top 10 list. The feature is a thrilling film with an emotional core and exciting action, which is why fans enjoy the feature in their free time.

Audience and Critical Reception

The film has divided the audience and critics, as seen in the split Rotten Tomatoes scores: while critics give it 49%, the audience score is 87%, much higher. Despite the mixed reviews, the film has brought in $98.4 million worldwide against a modest budget of $40 million. This collaboration between Ayer and Statham did not go as well as their earlier film, The Beekeeper, which grossed $162 million at the box office and scored 71% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What is A Working Man About?

Related to Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade, the film takes place as Levon Cade, a former OPS operator who tries to live a quiet life as a construction worker in Chicago. But when the daughter of his boss (Arianna Rivas) is kidnapped by human traffickers, Cade has to immerse himself in his deadly past to bring her home – and what he reveals is far greater than he ever imagined.

Cast and Crew

Collider’s Nate Richard writes in his review: "Regardless of this, A Working Man still has more than enough moments that keep your attention just enough to have fun. There is also an additional sweetness in the scenes between Levon and his daughter as well as with Jenny." To get to Statham in the action-packed thriller are David Harbour as Levon’s friend Gunny Leffty; Michael Peña as Levon’s boss Joe Garcia; Ilsa Went as Levon’s daughter, Merry; and Jason Flemyng as Captain of the Russian mafia, Wolo. The film is written by Ayer and together with Sylvester Stallone, perfectly summarizes Statham’s Levon Cade’s loner war veteran status.

Streaming and Updates

A Working Man is streaming on Vudu. The film has a runtime of 116 minutes and is directed by David Ayer. Released on March 28, 2025, it has been making waves in the streaming charts. Take a look at the trailer and find more updates on Collider.
