Return to the Scene
After seven years of absence, Mai Hariri is back with her new song "No Mustice", a collaboration with the "Trei" company. The song, which was composed by Ali Hassoun, has been in the works since 2020. Hariri revealed that she was encouraged by Ghassan Shartouni, director of the production company "music is live", to move forward with the project.
Overcoming Obstacles
Hariri’s return to the scene was not without its challenges. Another artist had attempted to steal her song, but she remained determined to see her project through to completion. "It was my share, and I was satisfied with her success," she said. "This return is what’s required for me in the scene."
Personal Life and Career
Hariri’s absence from the scene was largely due to her devotion to raising her daughter. She prioritized her family life, putting her career on hold to ensure her daughter’s academic future. Hariri is now preparing to pursue a specialization in artistic direction.
New Beginnings
Hariri’s song "Don’t be a mistake" is written in the white dialect by Amer al-Ali and distributed by Tony Saba. She is currently preparing to film the music video before returning to her residence in London. Hariri has been living in London and visits Lebanon from time to time, considering Great Britain her second home.
Reflections on the Industry
Hariri feels that the Lebanese music industry lacks unity and support among artists. "What annoys me is the lack of unity between us, still joys and encouragement," she said. "Everyone offers their interest in others, and they open fire without shame." Hariri believes that valuing new talents is essential, and artists who reduce these talents provoke her.
Gratitude and Appreciation
Hariri expresses gratitude to those who have contributed to her career, including composer Salam Salama, musician Tony Saba, and stars like Asi al-Hillani, Wael Kfoury, and Ragheb Alama. She avoids discussing her late former husband, Melhem Barakat, preferring to focus on her current projects.
Future Plans
Hariri is working on a new song, set to be released soon. She also has a non-technical project in the works, which she describes as a metaphor for setting up her own brand. While she enjoys her job and loves to sing, her current presence in the industry is not a priority. Hariri’s future plans are focused on her family and personal growth, with her music career taking a backseat.
