Introduction to the Solar-Powered Superyacht
Plans for a solar-powered superyacht, decorated with private gardens and a beach club, were unveiled by a Swedish designer. The concept proposed by the Viken Group is essentially a floating boutique hotel.
Design and Features
The 640-foot concept is a luxury cruise ship that includes a multi-purpose beach club that functions as a sea card with an infinity pool that connects with semi-private spas. The accommodation includes double height windows to present panoramic views. The Yacht is distributed over ten decks and continued by a 125-member crew.
Culinary Vision
The group says that it also has a culinary vision for the superyacht, which includes a restaurant on water that is expected to have a seasonal menu that takes over the kitchen of the countries that visit it. The restaurant will offer a diverse and delicious range of kitchen ships, building on the group’s 60 years of experience in building high-end cruise ships.
Expedition Ship
A secondary 27m expedition ship will be included, which could be powered by electrical or solar performance. The ship will offer guests a simple and luxurious transport from the boat to any beach resort or difficult to access cove.
Market and Future Plans
The market for Cruise Yachts is currently very promising, according to Antonio Romano, marketing director of the Viken Group. The group was commissioned to build a yacht for the Luxury Four Seasons Hotel Group, and the Four Seasons 1 ship will be the first of four premium cruise-yachts that will be launched in January 2026 under the hotel brand.
Unique Selling Point
The 196m project is the perfect illustration of the combined offers of the Viken Group, in which they manage external styling, engineering, master planning, and interior under one roof, according to Fredrik Johansson, co-founder of the Viken Group. The superyacht will fit into a small but expanding sector for premium cruises and will sweep away guests on long-distance trips across the high seas.
