Chloë Sevigny, who played Patrick Bateman’s secretary Jean in the 2000 satire under the direction of Mary Harron, has expressed her interest in the new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel of the same name. When she heard that Luca Guadagnino would be directing the new film, she reached out to him to discuss potential involvement.

Sevigny revealed that she told Guadagnino, "I accused him that I should play Jean again and that she did this opposite agent on me."
