Chloë Sevigny’s Interest in New American Psycho Film

Chloë Sevigny, who played Patrick Bateman’s secretary Jean in the 2000 satire under the direction of Mary Harron, has expressed her interest in the new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel of the same name. When she heard that Luca Guadagnino would be directing the new film, she reached out to him to discuss potential involvement.

Sevigny’s Conversation with Guadagnino

Sevigny revealed that she told Guadagnino, "I accused him that I should play Jean again and that she did this opposite agent on me." However, Guadagnino responded that he would think of something else for her. Casting for the role of Jean is still ongoing, as well as for the lead role of Bateman, originally portrayed by Christian Bale.

Casting Rumors

There have been rumors about various actors potentially playing the role of Bateman, including Austin Butler and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Kerry Barden, the casting director of the original film, suggested that Butler would be well-suited for the role of Paul Allen, which was originally played by Jared Leto. Barden stated, "I would cast Austin in Jared’s role because he is so beautiful, and that’s why we cast Jared because he is so beautiful."

Schwarzenegger’s Response

Patrick Schwarzenegger recently responded to a fan’s tweet about potentially playing Bateman, writing "I would no longer" followed by a winking emoticon. This has sparked speculation about his potential involvement in the film.

Film Details

Guadagnino’s American Psycho is set to be released by Lionsgate, with a script written by Scott Z. Burns. The release date has not been announced yet. As the project continues to develop, fans will be eager to see who will be cast in the lead roles and how the new adaptation will compare to the original film.
