Introduction to the Vilele du Temple Outpost
The Vilele du Temple outpost was designed with a minimalist approach, paying homage to the brand’s 90s roots. This unique design is a collaboration between the brand’s owner and the architect Corto Hony. The shop features an array of vintage art books on renowned artists such as Picasso, Calder, and Kandinsky, as well as vintage issues of the magazine egoist.
The Artistic Ambiance
The walls of the outpost are adorned with artwork that changes every six months, showcasing artists that the brothers appreciate. Currently, a painting by French artist Jacques Sotisson is on display and available for purchase. The space also includes objects that reflect the brand’s history, such as small pictures of the family and business cards from their grandmother’s lampshade business.
A Blend of Art and Commerce
According to Théo, the goal was to create a space that serves as both an art gallery and a showcase for the brand’s products and collections. This blend of art and commerce is reflective of the brand’s design philosophy, which aims to be classic, timeless, yet creative and artistic. The brothers intend to implement this concept in all of their shops, making each one a unique experience.
Expanding Connections to the Art Scene
In addition to the Vilele du Temple outpost, the brand has acquired a new space in Paris for hosting events, exhibitions, and photo shoots. This new room is designed to foster stronger connections with the Parisian art scene. Théo describes it as a "hybrid space, an ecosystem for the creative industry," which enables the brand to connect with people and showcase their designs.
Technology and Innovation
Behind the scenes, the brand is investing heavily in technology to streamline processes and strengthen the business. A proprietary AI operating system is used to automate administrative tasks, such as filling out Google forms for suppliers. This approach allows the brand to maintain its creative edge while adopting an intelligent, industrial mindset.
A Unique Approach
Pablo notes that the brand’s aim is to balance creativity with commercial acumen. "Lafaurie is a creative brand, but also a brand with an intelligent, industrial approach," he says. This blend of art and technology sets the brand apart, making it a unique player in the French market.
