Mike, a partner and music agent at Uta, is determined to avoid the notorious 6 o’clock traffic in Los Angeles to ensure he arrives at the Inuit Dome long before the hour of his client’s performance. Alejandro’s support of his fifth LP "Cosa Nuestra" has made him the first Latin American artist to sell out the new and technically experienced arena for three consecutive nights.

A Look into Mike G’s Playbook

"We speak of stadiums for 2026," says Mike, highlighting Alejandro’s rapid rise to fame. Mike’s playbook for Alejandro includes ending several nights in large arenas this year, publishing another album, and supporting it with an even larger tour. The current 21-day US leg of this tour, which extends to Latin America in October and Europe, sold out in June within just 72 hours after tickets went on sale.

Mike G’s Unconventional Journey

Mike’s journey to becoming a power player in the music industry was anything but typical. His career started on radio and sales before switching to artist management. He began leading Chris Brown in 2012 and represented Teyana Taylor and Akon, whom he still represents through Uta. Without a reference framework, he estimates the Hollywood satire "Entourage" as half harmful and half inspiration for him to start a career in music.

Managing Top Artists

In 2024, Mike signed Cardi B, Quavo, and Alejandro to his agency list, including Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Latto, and The Kid Laroi. With a client list like this, he starts his days early and lives by staying "productive and not busy." This method has certainly proven to be successful, as Mike contributes to preparing some of the most anticipated tours.

Upcoming Tours and Projects

At the top of the list is Cardi B’s first US Arena tour, a 35-city run that is temporarily planned for later this year. Lil Wayne will also take to the streets this spring and summer, after a night in Madison Square Garden in June. In the meantime, Young Thug is planning a short festival circuit – a symbolic return after two years behind bars – before starting an arena tour later this summer.

Building a Network for Artists

"The biggest thing I represent as an agent is to build the network behind the artist," Mike says. A large part of his responsibility on concert days is to secure the people they invite to the shows, see and feel the complete experience. This applies particularly to Rauw, since his live shows are a high-selling point of his art.

Rauw Alejandro’s Goals and Aspirations

Rauw’s goal is to get into the main stage. He is there in the long run – he wants the Super Bowl, Mike says. Coachella offered Alejandro a place in her lineup, but "he wants the headliner spot," Mike adds, "and understandably, since the percentage of Latin headliners are still slim at festivals."

Expanding into New Ventures

Alejandro also wants to produce films and recently connected with the Indie Entertainment Company A24 films. His appreciation for visual storytelling is reflected in the approach to his high-quality "Cosa Nuestra" tour, which travels from city to city with 22 trucks to make the magic look on stage.

Mike G’s Investment Portfolio

Pursuing these goals for his clients is an everyday affair, but in his own time, Mike has also built a strong presence in the investment world. He is a limited partner of Andreessen Horowitz and an angel investor in several companies, including Lance Collins’ new beverage brand, Recover180, and Half Day and TGL Golf, the innovative Golf League co-founded by Tiger Woods.

A Day in the Life of Mike G

It takes a village to do what they do, Mike says. But individually, when he finally reaches the end of his day, he’s happy when he’s moved the ball down the field, "even a little." Mike ends his night in Alejandro’s concert, waiting and talking to the artist’s team until the sweaty, adrenaline-fueled performance ultimately breaks out onto the stage and an outbreak of cheers and high-fives.

The End of a Long Day

Instead of bringing the party to the Bird Street Club, an ultra-exclusive hideaway hidden via Sunset Boulevard, Mike slides back into his Rolls-Royce, the city lights reflected by the bonnet, and heads home with a grin and shrug: "It is far beyond my bedtime."

Introduction to Rauw Alejandro’s Rise to Fame Five hours before Rauw Alejandro takes the stage for his two-hour concert, his agent, Mike G, is already on the move.
