According to two complaints submitted in Los Angeles, singer and award-winning actress Andra Day is in the middle of a bitter separation from her manager, Jeff Evans. Evans has been working with Day for 14 years and has submitted a complaint against her, accusing her of not paying him the amount owed.<\/p>\n
Evans’ complaint claims that Day did not pay him a 40 percent reduction in her publisher and a 20 percent commission for other business. He also states that the expenses related to Day between 2012 and 2017 were higher than the income, resulting in a loss for him. Additionally, Evans claims that he is owed at least $850,000, including funds from publication advances and payments related to Day’s leading role in the Netflix film "The Liberation". He alleges that he has not been paid since 2024, according to the terms of their agreements.<\/p>\n
Day has submitted a counterclaim against Evans, describing the 40 percent reduction in her publications as "exploitative".
