Taylor Swift has reached the most streams in less than one day after the release of her new album "The Life of a Showgirl" with the song "The Fate of Ophelia" on Spotify.<\/p>\n

A New Record for Most Streams in a Day<\/h2>\n

Previously, Swift had the record for the most streamed song on a single day with "Fourteen Days" in April 2024, with over 25 million listeners. She surpassed Adele, whose track "Easy on Me" achieved almost 20 million streams in October 2021. If "Ophelia" continues to perform well on the platform, it may challenge Miley Cyrus’ record for "Flowers" for the most streamed song in a week.<\/p>\n

Multiple Records Broken<\/h2>\n

This is not the only record that Swift broke with "Showgirl". The album also set a new record for most streams in a single day on Spotify in 2025, achieving this feat in less than 12 hours after its release. Spotify previously announced that "Showgirl" had broken the record for most first-day streams for an album, with over five million streams.<\/p>\n

Swift’s Previous Success<\/h2>\n

Swift’s last album, "The Tortured Poets Department", was a huge hit on Spotify and became the most streamed album of 2025, ahead of Billie Eilish’s "Hit Me Hard and Soft" and Sabrina Carpenter’s "Short N’ Sweet". "The Life of a Show Girl" was released on Thursday evening, revealing the 12-track work that she announced in August.
