The company will be discussing the selection of the Special Presentations World Premiere of Philippe Falardeau&#8217;s new film, <em>Nice Day<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>About the Film<\/h2>\n<p><em>Nice Day<\/em> is currently in post-production and marks the seventh collaboration between Micro_scope and Quebecois filmmaker Philippe Falardeau. The film is based on Alain Farah&#8217;s book <em>Mileage secrets, a thousand driven<\/em> and tells the story of Alain, who is getting married to Virginie, but is anxious about the upcoming reunification of his divorced parents. His fear is heightened by concerns for his cousin and best man, \u00c9douard, who has some dodgy dealings.<\/p>\n<h2>Cast and Crew<\/h2>\n<p>The film features a talented cast, including Neil Elias, Hassan Mahbouba, and Rose-Marie Perreault, who play characters in the French, Arabic, and English-language production. The cast also includes Hiam Abou Chedid, George Khabbaz, Rose-Anne D\u00e9ry, and Paul Ahmmarani. Micro_scope&#8217;s Luc D\u00e9ry is producing the film alongside his business partner, Kim McCraw.<\/p>\n<h2>Distribution and Sales<\/h2>\n<p>The world premiere of <em>Nice Day<\/em> is scheduled to take place on September 5th at the TIFF Lightbox. Anick Poirier, an industry veteran, will handle the sales for Micro_Scope International, which has previously worked with buyers on Denis Villeneuve&#8217;s remastered version of <em>Fire<\/em>. Les Films Opal will be responsible for the Canadian distribution of the film.<\/p>\n<h2>Philippe Falardeau&#8217;s Previous Work<\/h2>\n<p>Falardeau has a history of showcasing his films at TIFF, with previous selections including <em>Mister Lazhar<\/em>, which won the Best Canadian Feature award in 2011, and <em>Feed<\/em> in 2016.
