One of the most highly anticipated releases is Mike Flanagan&#8217;s latest Stephen King adaptation, <strong>Chuck&#8217;s Life<\/strong>, which is opening in 622 venues. The film features an all-star cast, including Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Mark Hamill.<\/p>\n<h2>About the Director<\/h2>\n<p>Mike Flanagan is best known for his work on Netflix mini-series <strong>The Haunting of Hill House<\/strong> and <strong>The Haunting of Bly Manor<\/strong>. His 2019 film, <strong>Doctor Sleep<\/strong>, opened to a total of \u00a31.1 million GBP. <strong>Chuck&#8217;s Life<\/strong> is a life-affirming story that is divided into three genre-bending chapters and has already won the People&#8217;s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2024.<\/p>\n<h2>Other New Releases<\/h2>\n<p>Another highly anticipated release is Ari Aster&#8217;s Covid-set Western, <strong>Eddington<\/strong>, which is opening in 422 locations via Universal. Trinity Cineasia is releasing the Chinese drama <strong>Dongji Rescue<\/strong> in 66 venues, which tells the story of the Lisbon Maru sinking in 1942. Picturehouse Entertainment is opening the directorial debut of Eva Victor, <strong>Sorry, Baby<\/strong>, in 65 locations, which won the script prize at Sundance in January.<\/p>\n<h2>More Independent Releases<\/h2>\n<p>Other independent releases include <strong>Oslo Stories Trilogy: Sex<\/strong> in 18 locations, which examines intimacy through three different character studies. <strong>The Ceremony<\/strong> is being released in 10 locations, which follows two hiking workers who work at a car wash in Bradford. <strong>The Regular Guests<\/strong> is being released in three cinemas, which is a comedy that follows a day in the life of unfortunate employees.
