The operating result rose by 45% in the previous year. The greatest increases in sales came from the Asian-Pacific region with an increase of 23% to $1.26 billion and EMEA, with an increase of 15% to $3.40 billion.<\/p>\n<h3>Popular Shows and Movies<\/h3>\n<p>In his letter to the shareholders, Netflix highlighted popular shows such as <em>Squid game<\/em> with 122 million views and international shows like the Great Britain <em>Department Q<\/em> (28 million views) and Denmark&#8217;s <em>Secrets that we keep<\/em> (35 million views). Popular movies included Tyler Perry&#8217;s <em>straw<\/em> (109 million views), <em>Nonnas<\/em> (60 million views), and the German thriller <em>Ex Territorial<\/em> (89 million views).<\/p>\n<h3>Upcoming Releases<\/h3>\n<p>In a winning interview, Sarandos mentioned the feature releases for the rest of the year, including <em>Happy Gilmore 2<\/em>, <em>The dead man wake up<\/em>, Noah Baumbach&#8217;s <em>Jay Kelly<\/em>, Guillermo del Toro&#8217;s <em>Frankenstein<\/em>, and Kathryn Bigelow&#8217;s <em>A house of dynamite<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>The Use of Generative AI<\/h3>\n<p>The Co-CEO also expressed optimism about the use of generative AI in areas such as VFX and said that technology was an incredible opportunity to help creators make films and series better. &quot;In the past, only projects with a large budget would access advanced visual effects such as de-aging,&quot; continued Sarandos. &quot;It&#8217;s just no longer the case.&quot;<\/p>\n<h3>Advertising Report<\/h3>\n<p>At the same time, Netflix published its report on advertising for the first half of 2025. The British miniseries <em>Youth<\/em> was the most-watched show of the streamer over the period with 145 million views. The second season of <em>Squid game<\/em> reached 117.3 million views in the first four days.<\/p>\n<h3>Top-Performing Movies<\/h3>\n<p><em>Back in action<\/em> was the most respected feature in the first half with 165 million views, followed by <em>straw<\/em> (103 million), <em>The list of life<\/em> (96 million), and <em>Outer<\/em> (88 million).
