The biopic, "Dely Me From Nowhere", records the production of his 1982 album "Nebraska", which became one of his most constant works.

The Making of the Biopic

The biopic stars Jeremy Allen White as a younger Springsteen. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Springsteen was asked how it felt to have someone else play a younger version of him. He replied, "I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than it is for me." Springsteen praised White, saying he was "very, very tolerant" of him when he would appear on set.

Springsteen’s Experience on Set

Springsteen said he would often tell White, "Look, I’m just in the way, just look at my eyes and I’m on my way home." He added that the days he spent on set were "wonderfully tolerant" and "just fun" and "pleasant". However, Springsteen admitted that the process had its "peculiar moments" because the biopic contains some of the most painful days of his life.

Avoiding Personal Scenes

When certain scenes were being filmed, Springsteen would sometimes decide to stay at home. He explained, "If there was a scene that was sometimes very deep, I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to stand in the way, and so I would just stay at home." Springsteen added that if the director, Scott Cooper, needed him for something, he would try to make it, but he was often on tour in Canada and worked on other projects during that time.

The Biopic’s Release

The first trailer for "Springsteen: Delary Me out of nowhere" was released recently, and the film is set to hit cinemas on October 24. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau, Springsteen’s manager, and Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Douglas. Other notable cast members include Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Marc Maron, and Johnny Cannizzaro.

More Information

For a deeper look into Springsteen’s thoughts on the biopic and his new album, check out the full Rolling Stone interview.
